Real estate agents in NYC use a lot of jargon, slang and other real estate terminology that may be unfamiliar to most first time home buyers or sellers. I've started a list of the most common terms I've come across and deciphered. Please feel free to add!
Color - "Can you give me some color on the competitive dynamics?" "Can you give me some color on the board?" Color in this context typically means information, as in can you share some insight or inside information on something.
Ship - "Feel free to just ship your client to our open house if you're busy!" Ship in this context simply means to send a buyer client to a showing or open house without being accompanied by the buyer's agent. This is a nice move offered by listing agents who understand that their fellow buyer agents can be quite busy.
