Can someone in the community give some advice on how to remove a lien on my home? I've read some stuff online and it's mostly garbage - fluff articles telling you to either pay it off (gee thanks!), settle (oh really? I should just talk to the lender and see if they'll accept less?), get it corrected (I'm sure it's that easy, that it was just a mistake) or dispute it (oh really, how do I do that)?
Specifically, I would love to hear people's thoughts on how to remove mortgage liens, mechanic's liens from contractors, liens as a result of a judgment, and tax liens from the government. Can anyone give more insightful information that what I've been able to find online?
Thank you!
