Do you guys find that co op apartment combinations may not work out economically or fairly when it comes to the maintenance bill of the combined unit?
You'd think that if you combine apartment A and apartment B, your total maintenance bill would be just A + B, but I hear that it's often not the case. Lawyers have told me that sometimes because of Certificate of Occupancy issues, you can get disproportionately high maintenance after the combination is done.
Any thoughts or experience on this?
